19th September, 2008 – in This Ever Changing World That We Live in

By: Dan
A re-shuffle of roles and responsibilities was all part and parcel of the corporate jobs we once held.

Whilst our lifestyles are now miles apart, some things remain the same, with constant changes at Tree Frog Farm. However, this time, the changes are determined by the seasons and the weather, not some bloke in a suit who's having a funny turn and wants to "re-engineer" the business!

Furthermore, it didn't take a series of lengthy meetings, death by powerpoint, internal politics or some external consultants to deliver todays' changes - the chief weeder has been promoted (or demoted, depending upon how you look at it) to chief leaf-sweeper!

And although we are currently enjoying the longest period of dry & warm weather we've had this year, it is fair to say that the wind has not stopped blowing.

The mornings are typically autumnal - with a cold, but bright start to the day. The afternoons are gloriously sunny with a warm, but fast and furious South Easterly wind.

Of course, as it's autumn, the leaves are going to fall, but with over 100 trees in and around the garden we have more leaves than most!

So, while Dan moved the lawns surrounding the house, Tracey set about sweeping leaves off of the balcony, the steps and decking.

This was swiftly followed by raking leaves from the pathway immediately in front of the house.

The thing is, leaf sweeping is very similar to weeding as in a blink of an eye it doesn't look like it's ever been done!!!

And why is it that the Head Gardener (Dan) sees fit to give the mindles
Leaf sweeper
s tasks to the mindless staff?!?! :-)

Born just outside London, UK, Dan & his wife Tracey moved to Southwest France to start \"living the dream\" on their own smallholding, called Tree Frog Farm
